22 Nov 4 WordPress Plugins to Make Your Life Easier
We live and breathe WordPress CMS at KreativElement – and love finding the newest and greatest plugins and widgets to make our clients’ sites the most user-friendly and feature-rich we can.
Here are a few of our recent favorites.
Yith. Where can we even start with Yith? On one particular site, having a membership to Yith saved us over $500 in plugin costs for a single build. A lot of their focus is in the e-commerce area of plugins but there are many other areas as well. The entry to the membership is a little steep, but if you create as many sites as we do, you’ll know it’s a great value.
With our ever evolving melting pot society, it’s always good to make sure you don’t lose possible customers because they don’t understand the site’s native language as well as their own native language. With WP Multilingual, it helps to run a multilingual website with a simple plugin. Now, it isn’t free, but you can build with over 40 languages supported, and the ability to add your own language variants. The best part about this is that it isn’t just for the main site, but is also useable with WooCommerce so that you can extend your sales aisle even farther with a multilingual online store. You can get started at $29 and $15 per pear or you can pay a one time fee of $195 and get everything it offers and never pay anything again. Check it out at: https://wpml.org
Unless you are experienced with webmaster tools from Google, submitting an XML sitemap may be above your tech level. You can use this simple and free plugin to generate a special xml sitemap which will help the search engines index you better and get you found quicker! This is especially important if you have had an existing site for some time and will be replacing it with a new site. You don’t want someone to do a search for you and click on a link that is broken because it is going to your old site. This is a free plugin that takes the tech aspect out of submitting your sitemap to the search engines. Get it here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/google-sitemap-generator/
We couldn’t conclude a quick review of our current favorite plugins without talking security. With WordPress you need to always be thinking about security… it’s the largest CMS on the planet and everyone likes to try to crack it. You want to know you are protected so make sure that you are using a trusted resource to help keep those people out! We use Wordfence Security on all of our sites. Wordfence provides enterprise class security for free, protecting your site from hacks and malware. It’s also the most downloaded wordpress security plugin there is. There is a premium version of the plugin too and is only $59 per year or less. You can do remote scans and do advanced filters like blocking certain countries from logging in, find out before your IP is flagged for spam by seeing if it is generating any. This plugin is a must for all wordpress users: ttps://wordpress.org/plugins/wordfence/
